FIRE VR V.2, an in-depth redesign
Over the past few months, our teams have been busy redesigning FIRE VR to create a solution that is much more user-friendly. FLUIDITY:
+ Efficient in terms of experience with much simpler travel, door opening and telephone use
+ Practice for trainers to connection and scenario launch as well as a stability headset-computer connection
+ Realistic in U&J with door temperature testing and an intervention logic as close as possible to real action
+ Precise with indication of thesequence of actions in debriefing
U&J ERP environment
Decors
The scenery has been completely redesigned and new scenarios have been created.
Uses
Operators now carry a telephone in their coat pocket. All they have to do is put their hand close to it for a few seconds to pick it up, then put the phone back in the pocket for a few seconds to put it down again.
Intervention logic
Entrance to a room
- Trainee checks door temperature
- He decides whether or not to open it
- He fetches a fire extinguisher, grabs it, removes the pin and tests it.
- if the bedroom door is closed, it is teleported to the front to repeat the temperature check.
He places the extinguisher on the floor and the trainer deactivates it by pressing the round button on the left-hand lever once, then removes the lever and places it on a flat surface. The trainee recovers his hands.
Once the extinguisher is back in place, we're teleported to the bedroom. - If the bedroom door is open, we are teleported into the room.
- if the bedroom door is closed, it is teleported to the front to repeat the temperature check.
- At the moment of teleportation into the room
- If the patient has been evacuated, we are teleported next to the fire.
- If the patient has not been evacuated, we are teleported to the patient's side.
Entrance to a room
All you have to do is touch the patient with your hands or with part of the extinguisher to evacuate them. Once evacuated, we're teleported to the front of the fire (in the case of a bathroom fire, to the automatically-opened door).
Replacement of an extinguisher
If a fire extinguisher has been deactivated (in front of the bedroom door, for example) and the trainer reactivates it (by placing the left joystick in its slot and pressing a round button), the extinguisher is automatically teleported to the player (who no longer needs to approach it with teleports).
What's new (Commercial and industrial)
Evacuation plan
It is now possible to enter the address of the trainees' establishment, as well as the contact details of the first-aid post. This information is automatically added to the evacuation plan. If the first-aid station number and name are entered, the 112 and 118 numbers are hidden, leaving only the first-aid station number.Improvements in use
- Easy door opening
- Intuitive phone operation
- WATER SPRAY fire extinguisher: More precise lance positioning
- CO2 extinguisher spray has been improved
Trainer interface
Interfaces have been redesigned for greater readability
Corrections
- The evacuation of certain characters in the tertiary and industrial environment has been resolved.
- Fire extinguishers roll less when deactivated and fall to the ground
- Teleporting to the foot of a door is easier, without having to stand in the middle of it.
- A progress indicator has been added to the phone jack in U and J
- The UetJ scenarios have been redefined as follows: confirmed fire, unproven fire (false alarm), routine patrol.
- An action indicator has been placed above the corridor door if a fire is detected.
- Entering a room with an uncontrollable fire will stop the exercise because of excessive danger to all environments.
In the near future, we plan to include this documentation on the irwino website or directly in the application, to provide information on the process to be carried out on UetJ.
